Contests – National Conference on Youth in Social Change

Film Making

Participants are required make a thirty second video encapsulating the theme ‘Joy of Giving’ and win prizes up to thirty thousand, along with other exciting opportunities.

Contest Format

All entries need to be submitted by July 10th. The videos will be uploaded on social media sites, and participants are allowed to share and publicize their entries. All the entries will be screened at Manipal University, with a jury who will rate the videos. The responses from social media will also be taken as a parameter for judging. A select number of entries will be selected for the final round.

The final round will take place in front of a jury consisting of eminent individuals from the Media Industry. The video will be played after a short presentation by the finalists. This will be followed by the jury’s questions and feedback.

Rules and Conditions
  • The story, not including the title and credits, needs to be thirty seconds or shorter
  • The entries need to be mailed to cc.vso@manipal.eduIt is an individual event. All presentation to be done by the participant. Any other members of the team can be credited, but will not be certified.
  • There is no limit on the number of participants from a college or institution
  • Participants can submit more than one entry
  • Only delegates registered for the National Conference on Youth in Social Change are allowed to participate in the event.

Swacch Bharat

Contribute to a cleaner India. Present a Waste Management plan or model tackling cleanliness, hygiene, garbage segregation, open defecation or any other aspect to make the country a cleaner place.

Contest Format

Selected candidates from the initial round will present their projects to a jury, who will select the winners.

  • Maximum team size is three members. Individual participation is allowed

  • A maximum of three teams from a college can participate
  • Participants can submit more than one entry

Food for Thought

Come up with innovative recipes to prepare food on a large-scale economically to feed the poor. Maximise the nutritional value at minimal costs.

Contest Format

Submit your entries before 20 July. Selected participants will compete in a cook-off at Manipal University from August 5-6, where the food has to be prepared. The jurors will judge the dishes and select the winners based on the taste of the food, the cost and nutritional values.
